‘Ray Donovan’ Season 4 Opener Available Online Ahead Of Showtime Bow

Season 4 of Ray Donovan doesn’t launch until Sunday on Showtime, but the premium cabler is offering a free sample this week. The first episode of the Liev Schreiber-starring crime drama’s new run is available to everyone on YouTube and Sho.com, as a video podcast on iTunes and other digital platforms. The freebie will be the TV-14 version of the episode, so — as any Ray Donovan could attest — the version airing this weekend will be a tad different.

After last season’s pro football-related storyline involving Katie Holmes and Ian McShane, there’s a human-trafficking plot brewing for Season 4, seemingly involving a big-name boxer. Meanwhile, Ray’s dad (Jon Voight) and brother Terry (Eddie Marsan) remain angry and vengeful, and his wife (Paula Malcomson) and daughter (Kerris Dorsey) remain clueless and in jeopardy. Brothers Bunchy (Dash Mihok) and Darryl (Pooch Hall) are duty-bound to be mixed up in something shady.

Series veterans Katherine Moennig and Devon Bagby also return for the new season, along with newcomers Lisa Bonet, Stacy Keach, Embeth Davidtz, Ted Levine, Gabriel Mann, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Chris Coppola and Billy Lush. Created by Ann Biderman and produced by Showtime, Ray Donovan is exec produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro.
