The View has seen very little change since it first went on the air in 1997, and its hosting panel has remained remarkably consistent. Well, except for the departure of Barbara Walters, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, Lisa Ling, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Rosie O’Donnell, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, Rosie Perez, and Michelle Collins, and almost a dozen others, it’s been the same panel. Anyway, Raven-Symoné is leaving too.

“I’m going to be leaving here,” she told the studio audience. “This will be — I’m going to be leaving at the end of the year, and, I’m sorry, before the year is up. I’ve had such a great time. I just want to say I’ve been on this panel with multiple females. I’ve had wonderful times with you, but the people that I really want to give a shout-out to and a big dap to is my men in black.”

She didn’t mean the galaxy defenders, she meant the crew of The View. But why is Raven-Symoné leaving? “I have a really big surprise, you guys,” she said with a smile. “I’m very excited. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen this show, but I used to do a show called That’s So Raven. And we’re doing a That’s So Raven 2. With no real title. There’s no real title yet, but I’m calling it That’s So Raven 2.”

The soon-to-be-departing daytime host explained the premise. “I’m going to be a single mother raising two kids, and one of them is going to learn that she has visions,” she explained. As to why she has been noticeably absent in recent months, she explained, “I’m executive producer, so I’ve been superbusy. That’s why I haven’t been here.”
