Raven-Symoné is coming to her wife’s defense.

In a TikTok posted on May 2, the actress sat down with her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, to call out the onslaught of online hate Pearman-Maday has been receiving from Symoné's fans.

“I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in the comments. And stop with the death threats in her DMs,” the actress said as she started the video. “It is disrespectful to her, and in turn it’s disrespectful to me.”

Pearman-Maday then spoke, calling the hate she’s received “wild” as she delved into some background information that she believed explains why she’s been receiving so much scrutiny. “I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I did not know who Raven was. I only ever said that I did not grow up watching That’s So Raven. I did not watch her as a child,” she said.

“But since getting married and meeting her in 2015, I have seen the majority of her work. I have also been at a lot of this work,” Pearman-Maday continued. “So I mean, backstage at The View, 25 Words or Less, the list goes on and on.”

Pearman-Maday, who married Symoné in 2020, then showed some love explicitly for Symoné’s Disney Channel sitcom, which aired from 2003 to 2007 and saw the actress as the titular character. “I love That’s So Raven. I think she should’ve won all the Emmys. I think my wife is endlessly talented. I support her beyond,” she said.

“She also isn’t just Raven-Symoné to me. You guys must try and open your minds a little bit and understand there is more behind people that are celebrities,” she continued. “There is real life here. And that’s why we’re feeling inclined to address this, because I’m receiving so much hate for something that is really just a big spiral of internet misinformation.”

Symoné then joined in as the video ended, calling out verified accounts in particular who were directing hate towards her wife. “And for all of the blue checks out there acting like trolls… sit down. Just, thank you, no need,” she added.

In the caption of the TikTok, which her wife posted, too, Symoné wrote, “Please stop with the death threats and miss information [sic] about @miranda v. pm. Its grown to a place that is completely disrespectful and out of control. Haters will hate and by all means do you boo boo HOWEVER do not spread lies and threaten my wife, marriage, or her character. I chose her and all of her… Stop.”

Pearman-Maday admitting she hadn’t seen That’s So Raven before meeting Symoné was not news, as it’s something the actress has talked openly about in the past.

In 2022, during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, the Cheetah Girls star said her wife hadn’t seen the show “before she met me,” and she loved that.

"It's fantastic! Imagine being in a relationship with someone who doesn't look at you like a famous person even though you have been famous your whole entire life," she said of the fresh start she got when she met her wife. "You get to be seen."

"And Miranda provided me with a reality, with an honest conversation to the point where she forgets that I'm Raven-Symoné or doesn't even consider me that person.”

The couple opened up to PEOPLE last year about how their love story blossomed after meeting by chance in 2015 at a West Hollywood karaoke bar.

"Call me psychic, call me deeply intuitive, call me crazy. I just knew she was my person. And I love being right,” Pearman-Maday said of her first time meeting Symoné.

Marriage has been cathartic for the actress. “People define their marriages in different ways. Ours is healing," she said. "We've banded together and healed so many years of our lives through couples therapy and somatic work. I trust her and have a partner who is willing to mirror me with kindness, love and respect.”
