Rachel Lindsay's former Bachelorette suitor Adam Gottschalk is coming to the defense of Bryan Abasolo in the wake of Bryan's divorce filing earlier this week.

Gottschalk, who is now married to Lindsay's former friend Raven Gates, shared his thoughts on the breakup in a since-deleted comment on E! News’ Instagram. The video post in question featured comments from Lindsay's friend Justin Sylvester's Today with Hoda & Jenna appearance, where he revealed Lindsay is "taking it day by day" and is "just trying to pick up the pieces" while "in survival mode."

In his comment, Gottschalk said that he's "not taking sides here but wanted to point out some facts" about Abasolo since he "knew" him from when they both appeared on Lindsay's season.

"He moved his entire chiro practice across the country, sold his Miami home, left his family and friends to put all he could into a relationship," he explained, per a screenshot obtained by the Instagram account Bachelornation.Scoop.

"Rachel has said in multiple interviews that she quit being a lawyer and started doing entertainment reporting. [Bryan] is a workaholic putting in 12hr+ days while trying to survive in high rent, post covid California business environment," he continued. "Doing that at 38 or something now he’s in his mid 40s is ROUGH."

When Gottschalk, 33, and Abasolo, 43, both vied for Lindsay's heart on her historic Bachelorette season airing in 2017, Lindsay ultimately chose Abasolo and married him in August 2019.

As for Gottschalk, he later found love within Bachelor Nation during his time on Bachelor in Paradise. The reality star met his wife Gates, 32, on the summer spinoff and the pair now share two kids: sons Gates Zev and Max Asa.

The potential discord between the BiP couple and the former Bachelorette, 38, isn't totally out of the blue: Gates previously had a falling-out with Lindsay after they appeared on Nick Viall's Bachelor season together — though neither party has confirmed what sparked the feud.

News of Lindsay and Abasolo's divorce surfaced on Tuesday. Per documents obtained by PEOPLE, Abasolo petitioned to legally end the marriage in Los Angeles, listing New Year's Eve as the date of separation. He cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.

As the news broke, Abasolo spoke out about the pair's breakup in a statement shared on Instagram.

"After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew," he wrote. "My parents have been married forever and I'm a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go."

"I wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps," he added.
