Ratings: Supergirl Sticks CW Landing

Supergirl‘s transfer from CBS to The CW helped the latter network scale impressive ratings heights.

Monday’s Season 2 premiere drew 3 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 demo rating, up triple digits compared to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s performance in the Monday timeslot last fall. It also was The CW’s most-watched show in the Monday-at-8 pm perch in nearly eight years (since a 2008 Gossip Girl episode) and best 18-49 rating in six years (since a 2010 90210 episode).

Not surprisingly, Supergirl was down sharply vs. the 6.1 million/1.3 the show drew for its Season 1 finale on CBS.

TVLine readers gave the episode an average “A-” grade.

Other Monday highlights: After stumbling out of the gate last week, NBC’s Timeless dipped four tenths (from 1.9 to a 1.5), while ABC’s Conviction was flat (0.9). Both rookie 10 pm dramas were down among total viewers (Timeless from 7.6 million to 6.5 million and Conviction from 5.2 million to 4.7 million).

On Fox, Gotham (1.1) was up a tenth and Lucifer (1.1) was flat.

Lastly, on CBS, 2 Broke Girls‘ hour-long Season 6 premiere notched 6.4 million viewers and a 1.7 rating, up slightly vs. its Season 5 opener.
