Ratings: ‘Simpsons’ 600th Episode Scores With NFL Lead-in
NBC naturally topped last night’s primetime with “Sunday Night Football,” but Fox gave the network a real (end-around) run for its money.
“The Simpsons” 600th episode, which also happened to be “Treehouse of Horror XXVII,” scored big on the heels of the broadcaster’s late-afternoon ET NFL game.
NBC was first in ratings with a 3.7 rating/12 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 10.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. Part 1 of “Football Night in America” at 7 p.m. ET had a 1.4/5 and 4.6 million viewers. Part 2 at 7:30 got a 2.0/7 and 6 million viewers. The conclusion at 8 combined with the kickoff for a 3.6/12 and 10.7 million viewers. The actual game ran for the rest of primetime — and beyond — accounting for the full four-hour average.

Fox was second in ratings with a 3.3/10 and in viewers with 9.1 million. The conclusion of “America’s Game of the Week” at 7 earned a 7.0/25 and 21.5 million viewers. At 7:30, postgame show “The OT” posted a 5.3/18 and 15.3 million viewers. “The Simpsons” at 8 landed a 3.1/10 and 7.5 million viewers. “Son of Zorn” at 8:30 put up a 1.5/5 and 3.8 million viewers. At 9, “Family Guy” got a 1.6/5 and 3.7 million viewers. “The Last Man on Earth” at 9:30 had a 1.1/3 and 2.7 million viewers.
CBS was third in ratings with a 1.1/5 and in viewers with 8.8 million. At 7, “60 Minutes” received 1.2/4 and 10.2 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 8 had a 1.3/4 and 10.8 million viewers. At 9, “Madam Secretary” got a 1.1/3 and 9 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 closed out primetime to a 0.7/2 and 5.3 million viewers.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.9/3 and in viewers with 3.6 million. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 had a 0.8/3 and 4.5 million viewers. At 8, “Once Upon a Time” got a 1.1/3 and 3.5 million viewers. “Secrets and Lies” at 9 received a 0.9/3 and 3.4 million viewers. At 10, “Quantico” managed a 0.8/3 and 3 million viewers.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 2 million.
Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in viewers with 1.3 million.
