Ratings: John Cena’s ‘American Grit’ Gets Pinned by Repeats

CBS and ABC tied a sleepy Sunday primetime last night, which saw broadcast television program far more reruns than originals.

Thanks to its “Big Brother” time slot premiere at 8 p.m., CBS finished first on the night in terms of total viewers.

At 9, John Cena’s “American Grit” got body-slammed by a bunch of repeats, finishing last among the Big 4 broadcasters in the hour.

CBS and ABC tied for first in ratings, both with a 0.7 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS was No. 1 in total viewers with an average of 4.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. ABC was runner-up there with 3.9 million viewers, airing all reruns.

For CBS, “Big Brother” posted a 1.4 and 5.6 million viewers. Repeats followed.

NBC was third in ratings with a 0.5 and in viewers with 2.8 million, airing all reruns.

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.4 and in viewers with 1 million. Following repeats, “American Grit” at 9 settled for a 0.4 and 1.1 million viewers.
