Ratings: Fox and NBC Tie for First in Key Demo on Monday

Fox and NBC went head-to-head in Monday night ratings this week, as the networks’ top-rated shows “9-1-1” and “The Voice” battled each other for the coveted 18-49 demographic. While both led the night with a 0.51 ratings score, CBS won in total average viewership, as it has done for the past four consecutive Mondays.

Ultimately, the flagship “9-1-1” brought the heat with a 0.69 in the demo, the highest of the night across hours and networks. Meanwhile, CBS’ “NCIS” logged 6.9 million total viewers on average, retaining all of its watchers from the week prior.

Here’s how the night stacked up across the broadcast networks:

Fox and NBC tied for first in the key demo. After the former’s airing of an emotional new episode of the Angela Bassett-starring drama, there was a new installment of “The Cleaning Lady,” which swept up 0.32 in the demo and 2.2 million total viewers on average. For the latter network, “The Voice” sang its way to 0.6 in the demo and 5.8 million total average viewers at 8 p.m. Closing out the night at 10 p.m. was an installment of “Quantum Leap,” which got a score of 0.33 and drew 2.2 million total average viewers.

During the 8 p.m. slot, CBS posted season-best viewership numbers for “The Neighborhood” and “Bob Hearts Abishola,” reaching 5.7 and 5.4 million viewers on average, respectively. The former drew a ratings score of 0.63, while the latter clinched 0.46 in the demo. At 9 p.m., “NCIS” posted a demo score of 0.53, also claiming victory in total viewers across primetime and the broadcast networks, same as the week before. An airing of “NCIS: Hawai’i” at 10 brought 0.36 in the demo and 5 million total average viewers.

Following CBS, NBC was second in total average viewers, netting 4.6 million.

Third in ratings was ABC, with a demo rating of 0.5. For two hours beginning at 8 p.m., “Bachelor in Paradise” claimed 0.58 in the demo and 2.4 million viewers on average. Closing out the night at 10 p.m. was an airing of “The Good Doctor,” which maneuvered to 0.33 and 3.2 million total average viewers.

Meanwhile, Fox was third in viewership, receiving 3.7 million on average.

CBS was fourth in ratings, with a score of 0.48. ABC was fourth in total average viewership, netting 2.6 million.

The CW was fifth in ratings and total average viewership, scoring 0.13 in the demo and 442,000 watchers. At 8 p.m. was a new installment of “All American,” which tackled 0.14 in ratings and garnered 481,000 viewers on average. An hour later, its spinoff “All American: Homecoming” yielded 0.13 and 403,000 total average viewers.

Neither Fox nor The CW airs primetime programming at 10 p.m.

Among the Spanish-language networks, Univision was first with a 0.5 in the demo and 1.8 million total viewers across primetime. “La Herencia, Un Legado de Amor,” which aired from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., received a 0.6 demo rating and nearly 2 million total viewers. “Los Ricos También Lloran” got a 0.6 in the demo and 1.9 million total viewers at 9. The night closed out with a new episode of “La Madrastra,” which aired from 10 to 11 p.m. to 0.4 in the demo and 1.4 million total viewers on average.

Telemundo came in second with an average of 0.3 in the demo and 998,000 total viewers. “Exatlón Estados Unidos” which ran from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., captured a 0.2 demo rating and 937,000 total viewers. It was followed by a new episode of “La Reina del Sur” which earned a 0.4 demo rating and 1.2 million total viewers from 9 to 10. “El Fuego del Destino” closed out the night with a 0.2 demo rating and 848,000 total viewers from 10 to 11 p.m.
