NBC’s “Chicago Med” raked in 6.6 million average viewers for the departing episode of Asjha Cooper, who played Dr. Vanessa Taylor for two seasons and appeared on 29 episodes of the Dick Wolf show.

In a critical episode for the character, who had earlier been revealed as Maggie’s (Marlyne Barrett) daughter who she’d given up for adoption, Vanessa made the decision to leave her post as a doctor at the hospital for an opportunity to travel to the Philippines and help others.

“Chicago Med” has previously seen total viewership figures in the high 6 million range (on Oct. 19, it posted 6.8 million), though viewership had declined last week due to airings of reruns and competition for the 8 p.m. time slot from CBS’ “Survivor.”

Here’s how primetime broke down across the major broadcast networks:

The World Series Game 4 posted a Wednesday primetime win for Fox as the network flew past the competition, hitting a home run in both total viewership and the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen’s live plus same-day figures.

On track for previous live sports coverage of the World Series, which began last Friday, the Astros-Phillies game led Fox to net 2.82 in the demo and average 12 million total viewers. The series is now tied 2-2, and the Phillies have one more home game before they have to journey back to Houston, where the World Series will be decided. All eyes are sure to be on the critical Game 5, which will air live on Thursday night. Wednesday’s 8 p.m. airing of Game 4 received 2.78 in ratings and an average 11.8 million watchers.

As mentioned, NBC had the second-highest viewership of the night after Fox, with 6.1 million, due to its airing of the “OneChicago” franchise, and the network also came second in ratings with 0.55. After “Chicago Med,” subsequent airings of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” also jumped up in ratings and viewership from last week, when the network had aired reruns.

ABC and CBS tied for third with a ratings score of 0.39, though the latter network edged out the former in terms of total average viewers for the night, with 3.2 million. CBS’ “Survivor” held steady with ratings, while its 9 p.m. slot had an increase in the demo and total average viewership with “The Amazing Race,” which took over the primetime spot previously held by “The Real Love Boat.” The reality series reboot was moved to Paramount+ last week due to its weak viewership (under 2 million for its last three episodes), and is the third series — after “SEAL Team” and “Evil” last year — to be moved to the company’s streamer. With 2.8 million viewers, “The Amazing Race” was up 10% from last week in its new time slot and posted its best audience since its Sept. 21 season premiere.

ABC’s Wednesday slate of “The Conners,” “The Goldbergs,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Home Economics” and “Big Sky” also saw similar ratings and viewership numbers. The network itself averaged an overall viewership number of 2.6 million.

Fifth in ratings and total viewership was The CW, with 0.08 in the demo and 434,000 average watchers, as the network aired installments of “DC’s Stargirl” and “Kung Fu.”

In terms of Spanish-language networks, Univision won first place in primetime with a 0.4 rating in the demo and 1.2 million total average viewers. “Vencer La Ausencia” started off the night at 8 p.m. and received a rating of 0.4 in the demo and a viewership of 1.2 million on average. At 9 p.m. “Los Ricos También Lloran” earned a 0.4 in the demo and 1.3 million total average viewers and “La Madrastra” closed off the night by receiving a 0.3 in ratings and 1.1 million total viewers on average.

Telemundo came in second place both in terms of rating in the demo and total average viewership, as the network saw a 0.2 rating and 847,000 average total viewers for the night. “Exatlón Estados Unidos,” which ran from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., earned a ratings score of 0.2 and brought an average viewership of 816,000. “La Reina del Sur” came next and brought in a 0.3 rating and 935,000 total viewers on average, and “El Fuego del Destino” finished the night with a rating of 0.2 in the demo and a total viewership of 723,000 on average.
