Spanning nearly a decade, the collection includes rare and never before seen photographs of the band, with a mix of live and candid shots, many of which have never been publicly available for purchase before. The collection also includes outtakes from the band’s 1991 NME cover shoot, photographs from their travels around the world, and iconic images of Cobain (and that sweater) performing on MTV Unplugged.

Aside from concert images and behind-the-scenes tour pics, the new collection also includes intimate moments with the band, like excerpts from Nirvana’s photoshoot for Creem Magazine in 1991. Shot by Chris Cuffaro, who closely documented the Seattle grunge scene of the Nineties with his photographs of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the images were shot using a Hasselblad camera and capture the band members hanging and riffing on set. Only 250 prints were released for this image.

Also included as part of this release is a rare photograph of Cobain with Courtney Love, watching a Mudhoney show from the VIP balcony of Hollywood Palladium in 1992. Shot by photographer Lindsay Brice, who was known for getting intimate access to bands and artists, only 495 prints will be offered of this shot.

As Sonic Editions write of Cobain, “His legacy saw him became a martyr for the lonely, misunderstood, and sensitive souls, but Nirvana’s raw magic is still as powerful today as it was in 1991.”
Pricing for the Nirvana prints start at $149 for a small, 11 x 14-inch size. The recommended medium-sized print measures 16 x 20, and the offerings go all the way up to an XXL 26 x 37-inch option.
The Nirvana images are available framed or unframed, with worldwide delivery. The collection arrives on the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s third and final studio album, In Utero, which was released on September 21, 1993.
