Tensions have been boiling over in the Raw women's locker room in recent weeks, and with a showdown at Crown Jewel looming in a few weeks with the WWE Women's World Championship up for grabs, the battle lines have been drawn. However, one Superstar looks to have the upper hand in the buildup to the November 4 event: Raquel Rodriguez.

Raquel Rodriguez will capitalize on her recent momentum as one of the five competitors in the upcoming Fatal 5-Way match for Rhea Ripley's Women's World Title. However, Zoey Stark, Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Ripley herself have other plans – as evidenced by the chaos that went down during the October 23 edition of Monday Night Raw!

The Fatal 5-Way match at Crown Jewel is guaranteed to treat the WWE Universe with nonstop action. Will we see a new Women's World Champion crowned? If Raquel Rodriguez has her way, we will. During a recent stop in her home state of Texas, Raquel caught up with The Dallas Morning News to talk about her upcoming match, among other things – like Jade Cargill's impending in-ring debut.

While the WWE Universe doesn't know which brand Jade Cargill will land on, Raquel is nonetheless thankful for another world-class talent joining the women's locker room. No matter which show she makes her in-ring debut for, it sure seems like Raquel will be welcoming the champion with open arms – all in the spirit of competition, of course.

"We have one of the most competitive and badass women's divisions in the entire world when it comes to wrestling," Raquel declared. "The representation of strong, powerful, beautiful women is just really, really powerful right now in the WWE and across the globe. So, adding Jade to that – and of course, you know, on the blue side, we also have Bianca, we have Bayley, we have Charlotte, I mean, the list goes on and on of strong, beautiful women, and adding Jade just kind of gives it a little bit more of a perch. We just have a whole roster full of powerhouse women and I'm excited to see what we do."

Well, there you have it, WWE Universe: the women's division is certified badass, courtesy of Raquel Rodriguez!

Interestingly, Raquel used the term "powerhouse" to describe many of her competitors, but the more we think about it, she hit the nail on the head – the WWE women's division is absolutely stacked in 2023! Across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, the roster is filled with more-than-capable female Superstars who can stand toe-to-toe with most of the men!

Why Does Raquel Rodriguez Describe the Women's Locker Room As Powerhouses?

It seemed that Raquel Rodriguez couldn't help but keep using that specific word when talking about the upcoming Fatal 5-Way match for the WWE Women's World Championship at Crown Jewel. (Perhaps she recently invested in a word-of-the-day calendar.)

"Oh, it is insane how many powerhouses we have," Raquel continued. "The competition in the women's division in WWE is lethal at this point. These amazing women who bring different backgrounds to the story and to WWE – and it keeps us on our toes, and it keeps things interesting and moving. And I think that's what makes us different. Not only that, we're putting five women who are, in a sense, powerhouses – we're big, we're strong, we're usually ground-based wrestlers. But you know, now we're gonna have to kind of dig deep and find different alternatives to take each other out to win this Fatal 5-Way because it's just going to be brutal, for lack of a better word."

As someone who grew up in Rio Grande Valley, Texas, the thought of one day traveling to a place as far away as Saudi Arabia to perform in front of an international audience never crossed Raquel's mind. With the mega-event less than two weeks away, the intimidating prospect of dispatching four other Superstars to claim Rhea's title is staring Raquel directly in the face.

"Well, this will actually be my first time going to Saudi Arabia, so I'm very excited," Raquel confessed. "I'm even more excited to be in a Fatal 5-Way and, of course, any time I get to wrestle Rhea the energy is super, super high. But not only am I stepping into the ring with Ripley, I'm stepping in there with, of course, the returning Nia Jax. The force to be reckoned with. The bad woman, Shayna Baszler. And of course, the wild card Zoey Stark. So, I'm a little nervous, you know, trying to figure out how I should prepare for this."

If the events of the October 23 edition of Raw are any indication, we're still determining if Raquel can do anything to prepare for the Fatal 5-Way match at Crown Jewel properly. It's an explosive situation that can only be settled in one manner: Five badass, powerhouse women colliding at one of the most significant WWE events of the year.

May the best woman win.
