Pusha T Gets Married with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in Attendance

Oh happy day in hip-hop!

Rapper Pusha T, who made headlines this year for his epic war of words with Drake, has tied the knot with longtime love Virginia Williams.

The wedding took place on Saturday at the historic Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach. The happy pair had some very famous friends on hand to help them celebrate. Pharrell Williams, a close friend of the groom, served as best man, while Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West enjoyed the ceremony with other guests — which included fellow musicians Fabolous, The Dream and Trey Songz.

Just ahead of the ceremony, Kardashian posted video of her glam ensemble on Instagram. Posing in front of a mirror, she showed off her gold Balmain mini dress, which she paired with a sparkling Judith Leiber clutch that’s shaped like a retro cell phone. After showing off her look, the reality star announced, “Mr. West is in the building!” turning the camera on her husband, who was adjusting his black suit.

In Brides’ exclusive look into the wedding, it was revealed that for her big day Williams wore an elegant Marchesa gown with a plunging neckline before changing into a second look — a strapless white dress — by Reem Acra for the after party.

Williams went on to tell Brides the date of their wedding had special significance for the couple.

“For whatever reason, I see the number 721 almost every day in crazy places. On 7/21/16 Terrence had me believing he was in L.A., but popped up at our home in Bethesda,” she told the outlet. “He told me to meet him on our rooftop terrace…when I did he was on one knee and asked me to marry him at 7:21 pm! I said yes!”

After the pair said “I do,” they shared their first dance as husband and wife to Curtis Mayfield’s “Makings of You,” according to Brides — and in order to make sure all of their guests felt comfortable cutting up a rug themselves, the couple also provided custom Adidas slides for everybody in attendance.

Best man Williams also shared a photo of the happy couple from the reception, captioning it: “Congrats you guys, God is the greatest, NOW MAKE THAT BABY!”

The joyous occasion comes in the midst of a busy year for Pusha T (né Terrence Thornton), who’s the current president of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music record label. Pusha T dropped his West-produced new album Daytona on May 23, and its cover art immediately caused controversy.

Rapper Young Money Yawn, who was in attendance at the ceremony, shared many photos of the celebration on Instagram.

According to Pusha T, West spent $85,000 to purchase the rights for an image of Whitney Houston’s drug-strewn bathroom to use as the album’s cover art. The use of the photo garnered mixed reactions from fans and Houston’s friends and family.

Just after his album’s release, the rapper and Drake struck up beef over lyrics in Pusha T’s new song “Infrared.” In response, Drake issued a diss track called “Duppy Freestyle,” where he mentions Pusha T’s then-fiancée by name. This led Pusha T to release his own blistering diss track, in which he outed Drake for having a secret child.

Things seem to have smoothed over, and both Drake and Pusha T have happily moved on.
