PnB Rock was fatally shot during a robbery in Los Angeles on Monday, according to AP. The rapper was 30.

The artist, real name Rakim Hasheem Allen, was eating with his girlfriend at the South Los Angeles location of Roscoe's House of Chicken 'N Waffles when they were approached at their table by at least one suspect.

The robbery occurred around 1:15 p.m. when the assailant brandished a firearm and demanded items from the victim at gunpoint, an LAPD spokesperson told EW. After a verbal exchange, the perpetrator shot the victim multiple times and allegedly took some of his items before escaping into the parking lot where a vehicle was waiting.

The victim was transferred to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 2 p.m. the same day. Out of respect for their loved ones, the LAPD spokesperson said that the identity of the victim would not be released and that more information surrounding the investigation will be shared as it becomes available.
