The tension in Jeezy's separation from his estranged wife, Jeannie Mai, continues with their daughter being dragged into their differences.

According to new legal documents, the rapper — who previously agreed to a joint custody arrangement — has filed for sole custody of his daughter Monaco. He alleges that Mai has failed her duties as a mother and wants the court to put their child in his care.

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, implored an Atlanta judge to dismiss the custody and parenting time arrangement he and Mai agreed upon in recent mediation.

Per his legal documents, the "Soul Survivor" hitmaker wants primary custody of Monaco, who he claims is not under his estranged wife's direct care.

He notes that his daughter has predominantly been under the care of Mai's mother and brother, while Mai, as the host of "The Talk," maintains a demanding travel schedule.

Initially, during his separation from Mai, Jeezy agreed to move to the basement, but his former lover eventually left their residence and took Monaco with her.

He was supposed to have allotted time with his daughter; however, he accused his estranged wife of interfering with his rights. According to Daily Mail, the rapper has been denied parenting time with Monaco over the past two months.

Therefore, he believes he is the best candidate to have sole guardianship, given Mai's alleged unwillingness to cooperate and inability to care for their daughter directly.

Before Jeezy filed for primary custody of their daughter, he and Mai dropped conflicting statements about their divorce. The confusion began when the TV personality claimed she discovered the separation "at the same time as the rest of the world."

Mai made the bombshell allegations on "The Jennifer Hudson Show," noting that she was "gutted" by Jeezy's decision to end their marriage. However, a source from the rapper's corner described her statements as false.

The insider noted that Mai wasn't blindsided by her estranged husband's divorce filing because they both knew it was coming. The pair had allegedly gone to multiple marriage counselors and therapists in the time leading up to their split.

Last December, Jeezy filed a motion to enforce the former couple's prenuptial agreement. He asked a judge to incorporate all of the terms and provisions of the prenup into the final judgment of their divorce.

According to his filing, the exes signed the agreement on March 26, 2021, a day before they walked down the aisle. He also argued that the prenup is valid, noting it meets the requirements for enforcement under the three-prong test, often called the Scherer test.

"There is no question that both parties were capable of reading and understanding the terms and provisions of the Agreement," Jeezy's argument read, adding that the prenup was not "obtained through mistake, misrepresentation or nondisclosure of material facts."

Following Jeezy's motion to enforce their prenuptial agreement, Mai filed a request to pause the enforcement because she believed the deal wasn't fair.

In her legal filing, the mother of one claimed she never got the chance to understand her estranged husband's finances before heading down the altar.

She argued that because the prenup procedure moved quickly, she wasn't able to investigate the terms of the agreement thoroughly.

Mai's argument partly read: "Given the compressed timeframe, it was inherently challenging, if not impossible, for either party to engage in comprehensive due diligence.

The result is an inability to fully comprehend, scrutinize, and verify the accuracy of the disclosed financial information, and casting doubt on the agreement's integrity."

Additionally, she stressed that although the agreement seemed to meet all requirements, she had "significant reservations regarding [Jeezy's] financial disclosures." Therefore, her doubts necessitated a thorough investigation into his finances.

Before imploring a judge to pause the enforcement of the pair's prenuptial agreement, Mai seemingly implied that Jeezy had been unfaithful.

She petitioned the court to uphold the infidelity clause in their prenup, which featured a penalty for a cheating spouse.

Representing Mai's interests, her attorney noted the financial compensation stipulated in their prenup must be fulfilled if the court enforces the prenup.

Per the document, infidelity was classified as any engagement of sexual relations, emotional relationships, and emotionally or sexually suggestive communications with a third party via all forms of electronic communication.

Although Mai did not specify if and when Jeezy allegedly cheated on her, she asked for approval to reserve the right to add more reasons behind her divorce from the rapper.
