Range Media Partners Adds Nashville Music Industry Vets William Lowery & Shawn McSpadden To Leadership

Range Media Partners on Wednesday announced its hiring of William Lowery and Shawn McSpadden, a pair of Nashville-based music industry veterans who will help it broaden the reach of label Range Music while continuing to work out of the Tennessee capital.

Lowery will serve as SVP of Partnerships and Business Development, focusing on business development ventures and content opportunities, with McSpadden to help grow the company’s already robust music division, talent roster and shared services department as Range Nashville’s first Managing Partner.

“I have known Will for years and we were always circling similar ideas. I am thrilled to have him join our team at Range to help identify IP and talent that can plug into our wider business opportunities and content plays,” said Matt Graham, who co-founded Range Media Partners and is a founding partner at Range Music. “Shawn is a newer relationship, but I knew immediately after meeting him and learning of his diverse music background that he was exactly the sort of culture fit and well-rounded executive we needed to help build out our partnership and services in new areas. He’s a team player who believes deeply in the importance of mentorship and has done an incredible job of supporting our existing Nashville team members.”

Lowery brings with him a roster of clients via his venture advisory firm Brigade Media Capital, which has interests in a portfolio of media companies across production, sports, music and consumer products. The firm last year financed three features and also helped launch a Dolly Parton NFT, while brokering the iconic artist’s first SXSW performance and activation. Prior to forming Brigade, Lowery was a senior executive at Endeavor Content, where he ran the faith-based division and worked to identify music and content crossover opportunities.

McSpadden joins from Red Light Management Nashville, where he was a founding manager, and for 17 years oversaw music publishing, outside business ventures, and managed artists across multiple genres. His role as Managing Partner at Range Nashville will have him leading the build-out of the branch’s services while supporting a roster of artists including Midland, Hailey Whitters, Stephen Wilson Jr, Ryan Bingham, Drayton Farley and Brent Cobb, to name a few.

Said Lowery in a statement on his hiring, “It’s been extraordinary to witness Range’s rise and expansion in the midst of all the turbulence in the world, so partnering with them for a new regional focus is an honor. We plan to be a disruptive force here in Nashville and the surrounding markets, and the scope of services provided will be a first of its kind, and much needed resource for content creators and media investors in this region.”

“I love being a part of a team!” added McSpadden. “The Culture at Range is amazing and the people are always pushing to be better, and think differently about our artists. We are building something exciting and are excited for RANGE to expand their community.”

Range Media Partners’ music division is helmed by Managing Partners Graham, Jack Minihan, Tyler Henry, Melissa Ruderman, Chris Thomas, Evan Winiker, Cory Litwin, and now McSpadden, as well as Partners Michele Harrison, Greg Johnson, Rachel Douglas, Ace Christian and Joel Zimmerman. Launched in partnership with Capitol Music Group and Virgin Music & Artist Label Services, it last year landed nine #1 hits, as well as seven Grammy noms, with client Nova Wav winning two awards for their production and songwriting work on Beyonce’s Renaissance. Also repped by the label are Jack Harlow, Saweetie, Justin Tranter, Cordae, Murda Beatz, Nicky Romero, D Smoke, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Lauv, MAX, HARV, Sean Douglas, Wondagurl, Rich the Kiabd, Yola, Eric Bellinger, Tkay Maidza and Pentatonix, among others.
