The highly anticipated release of Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal approaches this Friday. The film has been garnering attention not only for its star-studded cast and director but also for its recent modifications. Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) revealed that several dialogues and scenes will be modified in Animal.

The CBFC has granted an ‘A’ certificate to Animal, indicating that the content is suitable only for adult audiences. According to the detailed certification report, the film’s duration will be 203 minutes or 3 hours and 23 minutes.

CBFC modifies several scenes in Animal, details revealed

One of the key modifications highlighted in the report involves ‘intimate visuals’ between the characters Vijay and Zoya. It is still unclear who these characters are in the film. The CBFC has requested the deletion of close-up shots at TCR 02:28:37. Additionally, certain cuss words and a specific term at 1 hour and 31 minutes will also be altered.

Furthermore, the word ‘vastra’ has been replaced with ‘costume’. Two undisclosed dialogues have gone through changes, now reading as “Kabhi nahin” and “Kya bol rahe ho aap.” Also, the word ‘natak’ has been muted, and subtitles have been changed to “You change pads four times a month.”

In response to the ‘A’ certification, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga showed his content with respect to the decision. He stated in an interview with The Hindu that, “As far as Animal is concerned, I’d like to say that I am glad it got an A certificate. It is not for anyone under the age of 18. I will not be taking my son Arjun, my brother’s kids or any of my cousin’s children to watch this film in the theaters. Maybe I will have another child-friendly cut of the film for them. I have children in my extended family between eight months and 17 years and this film is not for them.”

As the release date of Animal inches closer, the modifications, as revealed by the CBFC, aim to ensure that the film adheres to the specified certification guidelines while keeping the excitement surrounding its debut intact.
