Rams release first unofficial depth chart of 2022

Now that training camp is over for the Los Angeles Rams, the team has released its first unofficial depth chart of the summer. The depth chart is put out by the media/PR team and not assembled by the coaching staff or front office, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt.

But depth charts always give us a good look at how those in attendance for training camp see the team shaping up. Immediately, everyone’s eyes will probably go to the wide receiver battle, as well as the right guard spot where Austin Corbett used to line up.

Van Jefferson is currently sidelined by a knee injury, so he’s not on the depth chart. But Ben Skowronek, not Tutu Atwell, is in his place at WR3. At right guard, it’s Coleman Shelton getting the nod over rookie Logan Bruss, which Sean McVay recently indicated was the case.

On defense, the line comes with no surprises. At outside linebacker, however, Terrell Lewis is buried with the third-team defense, which is shocking to many. The safety group comes with another surprise: Nick Scott and Taylor Rapp ahead of Jordan Fuller.

Is that the result of Fuller being somewhat limited by offseason ankle surgery? Or are Scott and Rapp really going to be the Week 1 starters?

On special teams, Riley Dixon is listed ahead of Cameron Dicker at punter, while Brandon Powell is in line to handle both punt return and kickoff return duties. Cooper Kupp remains a backup on the former.

Take a look at the full depth chart below.
