‘Rampage': Dwayne Johnson Is Back to Save the World in New Trailer (Video)

Dwayne Johnson is back to save the world in the new trailer for New Line Cinema’s “Rampage.”

“Rampage” is based on the 1980s video game and will feature three monsters who are wreaking havoc across North America — Johnson is the only hope of stopping them.

In the trailer, Johnson and his friends come across a giant gorilla named George (played by Jason Liles), which Johnson’s character has known since the ape was two years old. However, he keeps growing in weight and height, and soon becomes the size of King Kong — and obviously looks terrifying.

It becomes clear that genetic editing was involved, and there’s also a 30-foot wolf that is a danger to the planet. Then, there’s also a Godzilla-like dinosaur/lizard.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman and Joe Manganiello, and Naomie Harris also star in the action film, directed by Brad Peyton (“San Andreas”).

The thriller reunites Johnson, New Line, producer Beau Flynn and Peyton, who also worked together on “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

Ryan Engle wrote the original screenplay. Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal revised it, with Adam Sztykiel handling current revisions.

“Rampage” is set for an April 20 release.

“Let’s go save the world,” Johnson says in the trailer.
