After what feels like years of anticipation, the next James Bond movie No Time to Die has finally wrapped production. And it sounds like shooting got pretty friendly: Apparently, Rami Malek kissed Daniel Craig during a No Time to Die rehearsal. The Mr. Robot star, who’s playing a villain alongside Craig’s 007 in the upcoming film, has now recounted the incident in full — but, honestly, we still have a ton of questions.

Malek shared his story on last night’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “We had this scene that was a very complicated scene and we were rehearsing for it with our terrific director, Carey Fukunaga,” he said. “And we were sitting at a table over hours just batting about ideas back and forth, and we finally cracked this really challenging scene. [Craig] grabbed me and picked me up. I can’t tell who initiated the next moment, if it was him or I, but a kiss transpired between the two of us. I’m going to say that Daniel initiated it. And I was very taken aback.”

When prompted, Malek elaborated even further: “I took a moment, caught my breath, and I looked out and said, ‘So does this make me a Bond girl?'”

No Time to Die will be in theaters on April 8, 2020, and it will be Craig’s last film as James Bond. While there’s been much speculation that Idris Elba would take over the role, it now seems more likely that British actress Lashana Lynch will get her shot as 007. Diehard fans of Craig’s Bond will be sad to see him go, in any event — and that group can count Malek among them. “He’s my favorite Bond,” Malek shared to Colbert, “if I can say that.” You certainly can, Malek. But can you also tell us more about that kiss?
