The core cast of Ramayana appears to be finally decided. Ranbir Kapoor will be essaying the role of Lord Ram, Yash will be portraying Raavan, and Sunny Deol will be donning the character of Hanuman.

A recent report dispelled the speculation surrounding Janhvi Kapoor replacing Sai Pallavi in the role of Sita. The source revealed, “Nope, that’s absolutely false. People with vested interests are trying to create confusion around the casting in the media and industry. Janhvi Kapoor was never approached for the part of Sita in Ramayana. It was always the choice between Alia Bhatt and Sai Pallavi.”

The initial plan had Alia Bhatt in the running for the role of Sita, but due to the unavailability of dates, she had to step away from the project. Quashing any notion of a replacement, Sai Pallavi stands as the confirmed choice for the pivotal role.

Despite the makers not confirming, Pallavi’s continued involvement in the film is now clear. Moreover, the storyline of the film will primarily revolve around the intense confrontation between Sita and Lord Ram, serving as the crux of the trilogy’s first part. Ramayana is gearing up to commence filming in February 2024, while Yash will begin filming his scenes as Ravana in July 2024.
