Rajinikanth has a long lineup of movies set to hit the theaters soon. The actor will be next seen in Lal Salaam, which was recently postponed to February 9, 2024. His daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, has helmed the film, and it also stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in key roles. On the other hand, Rajinikanth also has Vettaiyan in his kitty. The TJ Gnanavel directorial also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and more. The actor has signed Thalaivar 171 with Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Rajinikanth to work on Jailer sequel?

According to the speculations making rounds on social media, Rajinikanth and Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar are planning on making a sequel. The film’s massive success is the reason behind the alleged discussion around part 2. An X (formerly Twitter) user, Rana Ashish Mahesh, has claimed that Thalaivar 172 will be Jailer 2. However, no official announcement has been made yet.

A previous report also claimed that Rajinikanth would collaborate again with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar.

Jailer turned out to be one of the most successful Tamil movies of 2023. The film follows the story of a retired jailer who seeks revenge on a smuggler who murdered his son. Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, and others played supporting roles in the movie. Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Shiva Rajkumar had cameos in the film. Rajinikanth allegedly received a hefty paycheck for playing the lead role.
