Rajinikanth‘s much-awaited movie Lal Salaam recently arrived in the theaters. The film’s trailer and song raised the viewers’ curiosity as they became eager to watch Lal Salaam. While the movie is a sports drama thriller, it also has a social message that director Aishwarya Rajinikanth delivered successfully. However, only some people know that the movie is partially based on a true story.
While Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play lead roles in Lal Salaam, Rajinikanth has an extended cameo. In the film, he plays the role of Moideen Bhai, who teaches communal harmony to everyone around him. The film deals with several aspects of society and its beliefs.
Lal Salaam’s real story explored
Several big names are associated with Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s latest directorial. The film’s audio launch event was grand, with celebrities across cinemas witnessing it. As per Movie Crow, during the launch, it was revealed that Lal Salaam is based on a real story. The film is inspired by an over-40-year-old real-life incident that saw the burning of a Hindu temple chariot. Thus, a similar story has been fictionalized for the silver screen with the plot, dialogues, and cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy.
Rangasamy revealed that he worked with Aishwarya Rajinikanth on the music video of “Payani” as a cinematographer. As a result, he pitched a story to her back then, and they started to look for ways to produce the film. He then described Lal Salaam and said, “The story is a serious one based on temple chariot arson and is based on ideologies. To choose that story first needs lots of guts. That was there in her (Aishwarya Rajinikanth). She is quite the rebel like that.”
Lal Salaam opened to mostly positive reviews. Moreover, even though Rajinikanth had a minimal presence, his role is being widely lauded by the audience as he once again mesmerized them.
