Raiders lose RB Josh Jacobs to chest injury

Just when Josh Jacobs was looking back to full strength, he is gone again. The third-year back left the Raiders game against the Eagles in the second quarter, following a touchdown run out left that put the Raiders up 14-0 with under two minutes left in the first half.

Jacobs left the field and headed to the locker room and shortly thereafter was ruled Questionable to return. By the start of the third quarter, it was revealed that his day was done.

Jacobs was banged up for the season-opener against the Ravens and missed weeks two and three with a foot injury. He returned in week four, but didn’t appear 100% and he averaged just over three yards per carry.

His carries and yards per carry had gone up the past couple weeks and he was looking like his old self again. In this game, he had six carries for 29 yards (4.8 yards per carry) and the touchdown. He added three catches for 39 yards.

Kenyan Drake’s carries have increased in Jacobs’s absence. Jalen Richard is also active. Peyton Barber is inactive for the game.
