Rachel Bilson Celebrates Daughter Briar Rose’s 9th Birthday: ‘So Grateful to Be Your Mama’

Rachel Bilson is one proud mom!

The Hart of Dixie alum, 42, penned a sweet Instagram tribute to her daughter Briar Rose in honor of her 9th birthday on Sunday. Bilson began the post by sharing that Briar Rose is a "sweet, caring, kind, beautiful girl."

"Entering our 9th year…. You are my greatest gift and my whole entire ❤️ I’m so grateful to be your mama! #thisisnine 🎂," she added.

The post was accompanied by a photo of Briar Rose wearing a blue t-shirt with the words "You are the best thing that's ever been NINE" written in large black letters. Near the bottom of the shirt were Briar Rose's initials and her year of birth.

In her Instagram Story, Bilson shared a glimpse of a necklace that was personalized with Briar Rose's name. She explained that it was "a special new necklace" that had arrived just in time for the occasion.

While many of Bilson's fans were quick to extend their congratulatory wishes in the comment section, others also noticed how Briar Rose's custom t-shirt was a reference to Taylor Swift's song "Mine" from the 2010 album Speak Now.

"Love the Taylor Swift reference 😍 happy birthday Briar!!! 🎉💕," wrote one fan. Another commented, "omg shes a swiftie i love the shirt."

Bilson revealed that Briar Rose is a big Swiftie while recalling leaving one of Swift's concerts early during an episode of her podcast Broad Ideas in August.

"We left early. Briar's friend Aria danced her ass off to 'I Knew You Were Trouble' — she was feeling it — and then just turned around, sat in her seat and passed out," she said.

"Everyone around us was laughing because it was so cute. Briar wanted to stay until the end, but her two friends were just done. So we left early. Briar was so mad about that. She was so mad," continued Bilson. The podcast host noted that Swift's show was Briar Rose's first concert.

"For my daughter to see this, I think it's so rad," she said. "It's one woman, she writes her own s---, she's really talented and she does it and like, look at what she's done."

As far as co-parenting goes, Bilson told PEOPLE in 2021 that she and Christensen, 42, have made things work by putting Briar Rose's needs first.
