As if we could handle any more Star Wars madness today, we just caught wind of this: Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) has partnered with The Walt Disney Company to design a 787 aircraft designed in the style of the series’ iconic droid, R2-D2. The high-flying promotion was unveiled today at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA.
The R2 Dreamliner will hit the skies for international flights beginning this fall.
As the press release points out, this marks, “The First and Only Passenger Aircraft to Feature a Star Wars Character.” Apparently that Jar Jar Binks Boeing 737 never made it past the planning stages.
