According to CNN, Mason had been accused of threatening to kill Savage’s father Timothy, who has publicly claimed that his daughter has been brainwashed by R. Kelly and is being held captive in his alleged “cult.” The Blast and CNN report that Mason told Timothy Savage, “I’m gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I’m gonna get you, I’m going to f---ing kill you.”

Jocelyn Savage's parents have given several interviews in which they claim their daughter Jocelyn is being manipulated by R. Kelly. They also participated in the Lifetime documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly.”

After the airing of “Surviving R. Kelly,” Chicago State Attorney Kim Foxx held a press conference encouraging any survivors and witnesses with information about Kelly to contact her office in order to initiate an investigation. R. Kelly has continued to deny allegations of wrongdoing.
