R. Kelly Accuses Joycelyn Savage Of Leaving Him Because He's Broke, Despite Allegations He's Hiding Money

R. Kelly is attempting to discredit his former girlfriend Joycelyn Savage’s claims of abuse by accusing her of leaving when the money ran out.

Joycelyn Savage, along with Azriel Clary, were the two women by Kelly’s side for the past couple years. They have publicly denied allegations of abuse and claimed to love Kelly. Many believe the two young women were being manipulated, cut off from their families and friends and forced to speak positivity about Kelly.

The two were living in Kelly’s condo in Chicago’s Trump Tower while he has been locked up behind bars.

Joycelyn randomly came out of hiding this week and reappeared on social media. She teased she would be telling her story on Patreon, a paid membership platform. She has begun releasing chapters in which she details graphic abuse by Kelly. She called herself a “victim” for the first time in the post.

The alleged child sex predator has a lawyer named Steve Greenberg. Hours after many praised Joycelyn for speaking her truth Greenberg decided to speak out.

Greenberg released a statement to Variety accusing Kelly’s alleged sex slave of trying to exploit him.

He said, “It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert. Obviously if she were to tell the truth no one would pay so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her own personal profit. We know the real facts, and it was not until the money ran out that she decided anything was wrong. Hopefully people will see it for the obvious profiteering it is.”

Greenberg is alluding to the fact that Kelly is broke, something his team has tried to push for over a year. This despite prosecutors accusing in court that Kelly is transferring assets into a childhood friends bank account.

R. Kelly Accused of Hiding Hundreds of Thousands in Friend's Bank Account

In court documents, prosecutors told the court Kelly was hiding hundreds of thousands in music royalties. They believed he redirected royalty payments to his friend’s account.

The prosecutors said in court, “the defendant’s contention that he has “almost no financial resources” is also misleading.”

They continued, “In fact, the defendant continues to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in connection with royalties he is owed for his music. The government’s investigation has revealed that earlier this year, the defendant re-directed those royalties to the bank account of a childhood friend. Regardless of where those funds are being held, however, they belong to the defendant and, at any time, the defendant can redirect those funds - and future royalty proceeds earned - to an account in his name.”

Joycelyn revealed all in the first couple of posts on the social media outlet. She detailed meeting Kelly in 2015 at one of his shows. He allegedly promised to make her the next Aaliyah, his ex who he married when she was only 15 years old. She claims Kelly told her, "Baby girl you are going to be the next Aaliyah."
