R. Kelly may have enjoyed his last Memorial Day BBQ for a while, because his accusers are set to testify to the grand jury this week as federal officials prepare multiple indictments against the singer.

Sources directly connected to the investigation tell The Blast witnesses will be in Chicago on Tuesday to give testimony during the week to the grand jury in connection to Kelly’s alleged crimes.

We’re told the focus of the testimony will have to do with Kelly and his entourage allegedly transporting underage girls around the country, as officials are eyeing federal charges of sex trafficking and child exploitation.

As we reported, officials are close to filing indictments against the singer in the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of Illinois, and are relying on testimony to the grand jury to strengthen their cases.

Officials have already collected a ton of evidence that has been provided by accusers of Kelly, including plane tickets, text messages and receipts which allegedly prove his team was purchasing plane tickets for underage girls.

Investigators from New York also traveled to Atlanta recently to collect testimony that will be used in the federal case.

Meanwhile, we’re told Kelly, who is already facing criminal charges in Chicago, is hopeful the justice system will work in his favor and clear his name. He has not responded to the looming federal charges, but his team is in talks with famed attorney Thomas Mesereau to come and offer his legal expertise.

Our sources expect indictments to be handed down shortly after testimony wraps up in Chicago.
