R Kelly Accused Of Exposing Alleged Victim to Sexually Transmitted Disease

R. Kelly has been indicted on federal sex trafficking charges, and one specific charge has to do with the singer knowingly exposing his victims to sexually transmitted diseases.

In a previously sealed document, obtained by The Blast, federal prosecutors in New York are claiming that Kelly knew he may have been infected with an STD and had sexual contact with his alleged victims anyways.

The documents claim, "Among the means and methods by which KELLY and his associates participated in the conduct of the affairs of the Enterprise were the following: (a) Committing, attempting and aiding and abetting the commission of crimes, conspiring to commit crimes, including but not limited to engaging in sexual activity with girls under 18 year sold, engaging in and facilitating sexual activity without disclosing a sexually transmitted disease KELLY had contracted and producing child pornography;

As we first reported the NY indictment is specific to having girls travel from state to state which allows prosectors the ability to charge him under the MANN act.

The MANN act makes it a felony to engage in interstate or foreign commerce transport of "any woman or girl for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose."

Prosecutors are specific in their description of how they believe Kelly's enterprise was run, stating "In connection with the Enterprise, KELLY and other members of the Enterprise traveled throughout the United States and a broad to perform at concert venues, to promote the R.Kelly brand and to recruit women and girls to engage in illegal sexual activity with KELLY."

It continues, "When KELLY identified a woman or girl who he wished to see again, he either gave his contact information to the woman or girl or obtained her contact information or relied upon members of the Enterprise to do so. Following these events, KELLY communicated with certain of these women and girls by telephone, including through the use of traditional telephone calls, text messages, iMessages and FaceTime. As part of this communication, KELLY often requested that the women and girls provide him with photographs of themselves."

As to how R. Kelly was able to control this entire enterprise and convince his alleged victims to do what he and his entourage wished, the documents claims he ruled by fear and control.

The legal documents state, "Demanding absolute commitment to KELLY and not tolerating dissent, Obtaining sensitive information about members and associates of the Enterprise to maintain control over them, recruiting and grooming sexual partners for KELLY, and Isolating women and girls from friends and family and making them dependent on KELLY for their financial well being."

Kelly is also accused of controlling women to the point of dictating when they are allowed to go to the bathroom.

The docs say, Kelly, "promulgated numerous rules that many of his sexual partners were required to follow, including the following, The women and girls were not permitted to leave their room without receiving permission from KELLY, including to eat or go to the bathroom."

Also revealed is an arrest warrant that was actually issued on June 20, 2019 based on the original indictment, but it remained under seal, so nobody knew it existed until Kelly was taken into custody.

Kelly was arrested last week on multiple sex trafficking charges and remains in federal lockup pending a hearing this week.
