A docuseries on Memphis native Dan Schneider and the alleged abuse of Nickelodeon stars is set to release next month.

"Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" is a four-part docuseries set to air on Sunday, March 17. The series is expected to dive into the prominence Schneider had at Nickelodeon in the early part of the century along with the alleged abuse and discrimination that child actors and staff suffered while on sets.

Investigation Discovery has unveiled the trailer for "Quiet on Set," which hints of Schneider's on set behavior and talks on the topic of sexual assault.

Here is what we know of Dan Schneider and the docuseries.

Who is Dan Schneider?

Schneider, a White Station High School Alumnus, started his career acting in the late 1980s. He worked on several films and the sitcom "Head of the Class." It was in 1988 that Schneider began to work for Nickelodeon to develop a new sketch-comedy show for children.

During his time at Nickelodeon, Schneider wrote and produced "All That," "Kenan & Kel," "The Amanda Show," "What I Like About You," "Drake & Josh," "Zoe 101," "iCarly," "Victorious," and "Henry Danger" among other shows and films.

What are the allegations against Dan Schneider during his Nickelodeon days?

In 2018, it was announced that Nickelodeon was parting ways with Schneider because of complaints about his alleged behavior. It was reported that Schneider's temper along with his posts of the feet of the young actresses that worked for him were the reasons for the contract termination.

The New York Times reported in 2021 that Nickelodeon's parent company had found evidence of Schneider verbally abusing his colleagues while on set and through emails. The investigation found no evidence of sexual conduct.

In 2022, Insider reported that Schneider was accused of gender discrimination by former actors and employees. It also stated that he would ask for massages from female colleagues.

These allegations and reports all lead to the documentary series about Schneider that will include interviews from former coworkers, actors and actresses from the films and shows he worked on while at Nickelodeon.

The trailer for the series mentions discussions of Schneider's character on set, along with reports of pedophiles working on set and a child actor who was sexually abused in 2004. It is expected that the show will dive into each of these topics and more throughout the four episodes.

"Quiet on Set" will feature commentary from former actors, writers, producers and more. Each one reports their personal experiences with discrimination and abuse while they were working on Nickelodeon shows.

When does Investigative Discovery's 'Quiet on Set' air?

There will be two episodes aired on Sunday, March 17 and two episodes on Monday, March 18. Both nights the episodes will air at 8 p.m. CST and run until 10 p.m. on Investigative Discovery.
