Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef dominated Hip-Hop over the past few weeks, but Questlove is actually more disgusted than impressed.

The Roots drummer vehemently detested the rap battles in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday (May 7), claiming it more of a battle rooted in ego than one of skill.

“Nobody won the war,” wrote the 53-year-old. “This wasn’t about skill. This was a wrestling match level mudslinging and takedown by any means necessary — women & children (& actual facts) be damned.”

Questlove even criticized fans’ reactions to the disses, adding, “Same audience wanting blood will soon put up ‘rip’ posts like they weren’t part of the problem. Hip Hop truly is dead.”

In an effort to challenge the rappers to do better, Questlove captioned the post, “Here We Are Now… Entertain us?”

Throughout the mutual verbal sparring match, both K. Dot and Drake have hit below the belt. The Compton native accused Drizzy of being a pedophile who hangs out with those who condone his alleged affinity for young women, as the latter accused the Pulitzer Prize winner of domestic violence.

Kendrick also penned open letters to Drake’s family including his son Adonis and a rumored secret daughter whom he reportedly neglects.

Questlove’s vitriol echoed that of Charlamagne Tha God, who shared on The Breakfast Club earlier this week, “I don’t like seeing these brothers Me Too-ing each other over a rap feud. To me, that’s corny. If you’re going to call somebody a pedophile, if you’re going to call someone a woman beater, you got to have some real proof.”

Though the rappers were accused of attempting to “ruin” the others’ images, Charlamagne praised the men calling it “the best rap battle I’ve ever witnessed” and declared Kendrick as the winner. Fans seem to agree, especially following the release of Kendrick’s Mustard-produced diss, “Not Like Us.”
