Quentin Tarantino's 'Hateful Eight' Teaser Trailer Is Online

Quentin Tarantino did his Grindhouse buddy Robert Rodriguez a solid by agreeing to make a trailer for his on-again, off-again and now on-again Western The Hateful Eight that could unspool in front of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Since shooting on the film has yet to begin, many wondered what such a teaser would consist of.  Outtakes from Tarantino’s last Western, Django Unchained, perhaps? Or maybe clips from the Hateful Eight script read that happened in L.A. back in April with Tarantino veterans like Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson and Tim Roth participating?

Now we have a teaser of the teaser: a just-posed, sure-to-be pulled clip of the trailer on IndieWire’s The Playlist blog reveals that it’ll be a footage-free glimpse at the names of the seven men — and one woman — who comprise the titular group. Scored to “Gimme Danger” by The Stooges, the teaser lists each of the Eight, from Major Marquis Warren a.k.a. “The Bounty Hunter” to General Sandy Smithers a.k.a. “The Confederate” before revealing that the 2015 film will be shot in 70 mm.  Apparently, the title will also be styled as The H8Ful Eight, which is sure to irritate English teachers as much as Django's fast-and-loose depiction of post Civil War-era America annoyed historians. We can't say that we H8 this glimpse of one of next year's most anticipated movies, though.
