Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has had fans debating whether Brad Pitt's character Cliff killed his wife Billie Booth (played by Rebecca Gayheart) ever since the film released in 2019.

While some might like the ambiguity and coming to your own conclusion, Quentin Tarantino has decided to reveal exactly what went down on that boat in the film's official novelisation, which has been written by the legendary filmmaker himself.

The novel explains that Cliff did shoot Billie with a shark gun, and in true Tarantino fashion, it's pretty gory and over-the-top. The spear-like gun literally rips Billie in half, and he tries to hold her together until help arrives.

That lasts for seven hours, in which time the pair talk and air out all their differences and animosity towards each other.

By the time a rescue team arrives, she is dead, and Cliff has a plausible excuse to cover up his murder.

That's a pretty intense sequence of events there, and we fully expect people to be divided on whether they like the revelation or not.

While out promoting his novel, Tarantino has said that his next film, his 10th, will be his last. Will that be an original idea, or his R-rated Star Trek movie?

And what will happen to the proposed Bounty Law TV series? Those are questions we want the answers to, too.
