'Queer Eye' Star Jonathan Van Ness Reveals His Cat Fell Out of Open Window

Jonathan Van Ness is devastated after losing one of his furry friends, and admits he won't be himself for a while.

The "Queer Eye" star revealed that his beloved cat passed away Tuesday night after a tragic fall.

JVN wrote on Instagram, "At some point last night while I slept my baby Bug fell from an open window and passed away."

He says, "I'm hurting so bad today I can’t put it into words, for anyone else experiencing grief & loss, I’m with you."

JVN is trying to let his friends know that he will be down in the dumps for the next few days.

"I’m sharing this mainly because if you see me around the next few days I won’t be my typical happy self and that’s okay," he explained.

He's also asking people to donate to animal shelters in honor of his fallen friend: "Not sure how I’m going to make this loss mean something more but in the meantime, please make a donation to an animal shelter near you."

In the wake of his loss, JVN's famous friends are reaching out to support the Netflix star.

His "Queer Eye" co-stars Antoni Porowski and Tan France both wrote that they loved him, along with Katie Couric, who wrote, "so so sorry JVN. Sending u lots of love."

Perhaps even more devastating, JVN had adopted Bug after his first cat, named Bug, died.

The shelter he adopted his friend from commented on the death, telling JVN, "Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time and we’re so sorry. We know that Bug lived an amazing life with you and was so loved. We thank you for giving him an incredible home and life."
