Grant, who rose to fame in Christian music as a teen during the 1980s, is a performer who's accomplished several firsts: the first contemporary Christian music artist to have a platinum record, the first to reach No. 1 on the pop charts, and the first to perform at the Grammy Awards.

The 63-year-old Grant has racked up an impressive collection of awards including six Grammys and numerous Dove Awards, was inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2003 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006.
