Spring is here and Queen Camilla (alongside King Charles) knows just how to kick it off—at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party, of course! This week marked the first one of the season and both the king and queen dressed to impress. Still, I couldn’t help but spot Camilla’s choice of footwear since it’s a bit of a go-to for royals ranging from Kate Middleton to Princess Beatrice and Meghan Markle, too. All hail the two-tone pump. (FYI, Camilla’s are past-season from Chanel, but we found plenty of alternatives, like this pair from M. Gemi, $348.)

Officially known as the ‘spectator,’ a two-tone shoe is typically beige with a black toe cap. It’s been in vogue since the 1930s when the Duke of Windsor (Queen Elizabeth II’s uncle) donned a men’s version to a sporting event.
In the case of Camilla, it’s easy to see just how versatile the style is: She wears the neutral-feeling pump with a bright white dress designed by Fiona Clare (and last worn by the Queen to Wimbledon in 2023) and it feels springy and elegant all at once. We’re now on a royal mission to replicate her style choice.

As we said, King Charles also showed up looking quite sharp in a top hat and powder blue vest—a rare appearance, given his recent cancer diagnosis, but also marking his eagerness to return to royal programming as scheduled. (The monarch celebrated his return to work in April after getting clearance from his medical team.)
