Queen Camilla

Queen Camilla surprised people attending the Charleston Festival in Sussex as she arrived with a smile on her face despite the rain, wearing a green patterned dress and matching scarf.

The Queen, who is a patron of the Charleston Trust, also gave a speech at the Power of Reading event, revealing to excited schoolchildren that the literary world she would love to travel to is Hogwarts from the Harry Potter book series in a touching moment.

"One place I think I'd love to go is Hogwarts," Camilla told a little 9-year-old girl named Bess who asked the question, as reported by The Argus. "I’d like to jump on the express and sit in that wonderful hall and pick a house. I’d like to look at Dumbledore and Hagrid and Snape, and see all the pics going mad and the food flying about, I think it would be a magical experience."

During her speech, Camilla appeared happy to introduce the event, saying, "As a proud patron of Charleston I am delighted to welcome you all here to this year’s literary festival."

“I lived in Sussex for many years and it was always sunny so I don’t know what’s happened today," she went on, joking about the dreary weather. According to the publication, Camilla was last spotted in Sussex in 2021.

Throughout the rest of the event, Camilla shook hands and spoke with many different people, including more schoolchildren, with one little girl giving the royal flowers. Later on, the girl, whose name was Tallulah, said, "It was really exciting but I was also quite nervous."

Camilla was on her own at the Sussex event, without her husband, King Charles, by her side. Recently, the couple hosted the Sovereign's Creative Industries Garden Party on May 15 at Buckingham Palace, while Camilla has supported Charles at other recent outings as he returns to royal duties amid his cancer treatment.
