Quavo has teamed up with Lids Hat Drop and ’47 to release two “rare” snapback hats homaging the University of Georgia Bulldogs. The limited-edition collab features the back-to-back Playoff champion Bulldogs’ logos, with new flair added by Qua.

In an interview with VIBE, the Rocket Power rapper spoke to his partnership with the headwear brand, but also his connection to education and the youth. Born Quavious Keyate Marshall, the “Hold On” rhymer has worked with Lids for about three to four years now, with his first two collaborations being Atlanta Braves World Series hats.

“I was just honored and I felt like it was a blessing because growing up I always rocked the Atlanta hat,” he spoke of the partnership. “When I was trying to rap, that was my favorite hat and that was like a staple. Kind of like how the New York Yankee hat is to New York. We love our Atlanta Braves hat.”

Since then, the Migos rapper and Lids have kept their connection solid.

“The relationship just got stronger and stronger,” he said. “I created another hat when they went back-to-back and won another World Series, thank God. And then now we here with the college wave and UGA won back-to-back. So I guess it’s only right to call Qua at this point [laughs]. I’m just proud of myself for being a part of the family.”

The University of Georgia is in Athens, Ga. — Quavo’s hometown — and as an avid fan of the Bulldogs, the 32-year-old revealed that he plans to enroll in the institution next year. However, he hasn’t disclosed what he will study.

“Next year, I’m going to enroll myself into University of Georgia. I’m going to be a student on campus,” he excitedly revealed. Speaking to raising the morale on campus, not only did Quavo suggest the Bulldogs turn up to his album single, “Who Wit Me” before games, but also foreshadowed, “I want to see everybody at the University of Georgia have this hat. These hats are rare. This hat is a one-of-a-kind, and it’s done by me.”

He continued, “I’m from Athens, you know what I’m saying? I love UGA to the fullest. I just want everybody to rep this hat and put it on their head, because we ain’t capping about our rap. We coming hard this year and we going three-peat.”

Quavo’s support for education and sports doesn’t stop at UGA. The rapper already has his Rocket Foundation, Quavo Cares and Huncho Sports, which all encourage higher-education and extracurricular activities.

“With the Rocket Foundation, Quavo Cares – I most definitely want to help kids out,” he expressed. “Right now I got Huncho Sports, Team Huncho and Huncho Elite. I got kids playing football and basketball, so hopefully we get these guys in schools and get them some scholarships, and hopefully they’ll be playing for one of these teams out here.”
