Quavo’s annual Huncho Day returned to his alma mater, Berkmar High School, with a focus on preventing gun violence. The seventh annual Huncho Day on Sunday (April 28) was powered by LEGENDS in collaboration with his Quavo Cares Foundation and The Rocket Foundation,

Additionally, the rapper partnered with Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund for the first-ever Huncho Social Impact Hub. This featured community-based organizations such as the Tender Foundation, Live Free, HOPE Hustlers, Community Justice Action Fund, and more, providing essential resources to local families. Activities included combines, clinics, and exhibition games featuring Team Huncho Elite 7v7 Football and Team Huncho Basketball, showcasing elite youth athletes, and supported by both the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Hawks. Attendees also enjoyed the Huncho Fun Zone.

Huncho Day’s proceeds are set to benefit Rocket Camp, otherwise known as the Credible Messenger Summer Mentorship Program, which is powered by The Rocket Foundation. The program, a 10-week summer violence intervention led by the Offender Alumni Association, is geared toward engaging high-risk, high-need youth ages 13-17, providing opportunities for economic, social, and civic empowerment.

The philanthropic efforts follow the establishment of the Sparks Grants Initiative by Quavo last month to help combat gun violence in the wake of rapper Takeoff’s violent murder in November 2022.

“I am honored to launch this grant program to honor Take and the countless families that have been affected by gun violence,” detailed the 33-year-old. “The Rocket Foundation will be giving out $100,000 in Spark grants to local organizations dedicated to reducing community violence in Atlanta. There is a lot of important work going on in ATL right now, and part of our mission is to uplift these organizations and support them to help save more lives.”

2024 Huncho Day also included the Huncho Legends Dinner, where the “Turn Yo Clic Up” performer and guests toasted in his honor. Take a look at images inside the affair below.
