Quando Rondo Arrested on Federal Drug Charges

Savannah rapper Quando Rondo was arrested late Friday, ABC’s Savannah affiliate WJCL reports. An FBI spokesperson told the station that the 24-year-old, real name Tyquian Terrel Bowman, was taken into custody over federal drug charges, with the Savannah police serving as the arresting agency.
The SPD told the station that Bowman was a passenger in a car that was pulled over around midnight on Friday. He was arrested without incident, a department spokesperson told the station. A spokesperson for the FBI in Atlanta confirmed the overnight arrest over federal drug related charges to Rolling Stone. The specific drug charges have not been specified. Bowman is expected to appear in court next week.

In June, Bowman and 18 others were indicted by a grand jury on state drug and gang charges. Bowman is charged with four counts in the 49-count indictment, including being accused of violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act for allegedly serving in a management role with the Rollin’ 60s street gang, two counts of conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act by allegedly conspiring with others to distribute marijuana and to purchase hydrocodone pills, and illegal use of a communication facility.
The rapper released his second studio album, Recovery, in March. The album includes his single “Give Me a Sign” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again that the pair released last year. Rondo told Rolling Stone that the song was for those they have lost, including his friend Lul Pab, who was fatally shot while sitting next to Rondo in the back of a car while in L.A. He released that song ahead of the album first because “That song make me feel like my homies still alive. That song was like my homie was there when I did that song, so it just gives me memories,” he said.
