Purling Hiss’ Mike Polizze Announces Debut Solo Album Long Lost Solace Find

Purling Hiss’ Mike Polizze has announced that his debut solo album is on the way: Long Lost Solace Find will arrive via Paradise of Bachelors on July 31. Polizze describes the record as “largely acoustic, mellow, and almost without electric guitar.” Check out “Revelation,” which features Kurt Vile on backup vocals and trumpet, below.

“I love this music so much,” Vile said. “‘Revelation’ is the summer jam I needed, and this is absolutely my summer record. I’m not just sayin’ that because Mike is my bro, and I happened to play and sing on it.”

Although Mike Polizze largely recorded Long Lost Solace Find by himself, his longtime Philadelphia colleague Vile appears across the album. Jeff Zeigler—whose credits include work with the War on Drugs, Nick Hakim, Allison Crutchfield, and Steve Gunn—produced the record. Polizze’s most recent Purling Hiss release was last year’s four-song Interstellar Blue.
