Should we be pumping the brakes on Chicago’s 3-0 start?

Terez & Charles break down why the Bears fans should start pumping their brakes.

Video Transcript

TEREZ PAYLOR: The Bears improved the 3 and 0 by beating the Atlanta Falcons 30 to 26! And Charles, they were down 26 to 10. Third quarter, Mitchell Trubisky throws an interception. And just Matt Nagy's had it. He's just done. Here comes Nick Foles.

[CHUCKLING]

CHARLES ROBINSON: I wasn't watching this-- like I'd saw-- I'd seen bits and pieces of it early, and then I kind of moved away from it. And then, I heard he got benched. And so then I flipped over. And I'm like, what the hell's going on here?

And I thought to myself, look, man, you're 2 and 0. [LAUGHING] [INAUDIBLE] the wrong. I'm like-- and then I saw the pick. And I was like, oh, my god.

TEREZ PAYLOR: It was bad.

CHARLES ROBINSON: It was so bad. And so I sat there and I probably watched for a good five minutes, as Foles started to, you know, bring them back. And I thought to myself, this is brilliant. Because if you're Matt Nagy, you're sitting there and you're going, look, we won two games with Mitch Trubisky and maybe that was all we were going--

[LAUGHTER]

--Like, for-- you know, you're like, maybe we're playing with house money right now. Like, that was what we were going to get. We got-- we got two games, two wins. And so you make the switch to Foles thinking, like, we know what Mitch is. He makes this horrible turnover.

He-- you know, you and I have already said like, hey, they're 2 and 0, but Trubisky hasn't been fantastic. Like, he's done some things here and there. But you know, it's not like this is the Mitch that was lighting the world on fire a couple of seasons ago.

So you make the switch to Foles. He jump-starts it, does Nick Foles things, brings them back. They win this game. And it was interesting to me, because I see a lot of people on Twitter who just-- they were just like, oh, my god. You know, Nick Foles-- the Bears-- the Bears are 3 and 0. This is unbelievable.

And then I was like, wait a minute. You've beaten Detroit. You've beaten the New York Giants.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Yep.

CHARLES ROBINSON: You've beaten the Atlanta Falcons. OK. Now, two of those three coaching staffs-- one's a new coaching staff with the Giants. Two of the other three might be fired when the season's over, maybe before the season, OK.

Like, I understand they're 3 and 0. I get it, OK? And frankly. Like I said, house money. You're way ahead, as far as I'm concerned. But I will say this, too. You-- I think you beat three bad teams, but there's one thing about Nick Foles that I will say here.

Jacksonville has had plenty of people leave there and us realize, hey, you know what? Our opinion of these guys dipped while they were in Jacksonville. And then they left, and all of a sudden, we're like, well, [BLEEP], these guys are pretty good players.

Bortles, no. But could Nick Foles be a guy who comes out of there and be fine, serviceable player?

TEREZ PAYLOR: Oh, yeah.

CHARLES ROBINSON: Hell yeah. Absolutely.

TEREZ PAYLOR: Look, man. Former Super Bowl MVP just a couple of years ago. Also, when Nick Foles came out wearing in the Jim McMahon number 9--

[CHUCKLES]

--with a black visor, I was like, yo--

[LAUGHTER]

--this guy looks badass right now. And then come on, dude. He comes out, throws three touchdowns, leads these guys back, how could he not? How could Matt Nagy not go with Nick Foles going forward?
