Sep. 12—Apparently, all is not happy in the land of Puddle of Mudd.

The rock band, which dates to the early 1990s, recently canceled a series of upcoming concerts, including a show set for Oct. 28 at the Lorain Palace Theatre.

The Palace issued a statement on Sept. 12 that seemingly borrows language from one put out by The Machine Shop, a venue in Flint, Michigan, that places the blame on original vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wes Scantlin:

"Puddle of Mudd has canceled all of their upcoming concerts including the show on October 28th at the Lorain Palace Theatre. This is not a 'due to circumstances beyond our control' cancellation. This is 100% Wes Scantlin. The Lorain Palace Theatre, his band, agents and everyone involved are beyond disappointed. We will not be postponing the show as we are not ever rescheduling Puddle of Mudd."

As Loudwire reported, the musician issued his own statement on social media:

"I would like to take a moment to address recent developments regarding upcoming Puddle of Mudd shows. I believe it's important to provide my perspective on this matter. I would like to clarify that the shows in question were set up without my consent by my former management team. I told my team at the time more than once that no shows should be booked without my authorization. I never agreed to these shows. In light of these circumstances, I have made the decision to take this time to regroup and make necessary changes. It is essential to ensure that the future of my music career is built on a foundation of trust, transparency, and genuine collaboration. I am deeply grateful for your understanding, continued support, and patience during this transitional period. Thank you, Wes."

The statement from the Palace continues: "We are still very excited to have Saving Abel perform at The Lorain Palace Theatre on October 28 as scheduled. Saving Abel will perform with an opening guest that is to be announced."

Saving Abel was to have opened for Puddle of Mudd.

The statement concludes by stating refunds will be available by calling the box office at 440-245-2323.
