PSU jazz groups to host district jazz band

Nov. 14—PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University jazz ensemble and jazz combo will host the Southeast Kansas district jazz band in a concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer. Admission is free and open to the public.

The jazz ensemble and jazz combo, composed of university students who auditioned, are directed by Todd Hastings. They will play a mix of standards and contemporary tunes.

The district jazz band, composed of high school students who auditioned from across Southeast Kansas on Nov. 4, will be directed by Ryan Heinlein.
