PSA: Rihanna Is Staying Laser Focused on Her Pregnancy Amid A$AP Rocky’s Arrest Drama

While the singer hasn’t publicly commented on her boyfriend’s legal troubles, a source close to her *has* leaked out a little update on how she’s handling everything.

“She hasn’t spoken much about [the arrest]. She’s truly focused on her pregnancy and not trying to get too stressed,” the source told Us Weekly. “She is very confident about everything and has told friends she just hopes for a positive outcome.”

This echoes what another source said shortly after the arrest, telling Entertainment Tonight, “This drama is the last thing Rihanna needs right now. She wants to be mellow, relaxed, and focused 100 percent on the arrival of her baby—not stressing out!”

A$AP Rocky was arrested earlier this month for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an alleged shooting from November 2021. Los Angeles Police Department officers took Rocky (whose real name is Rakim Mayers) into custody on April 20 when he and Rihanna, who is currently in her third trimester, returned from a trip to Barbados. According to TMZ, Rihanna was “shocked” by the arrest and Rocky was “blindsided.”

“Cops chose not to give Rocky or his team a heads-up,” according to TMZ, which also reported that police said the ambush arrest was a tactic “to see if they could find the gun used in the shooting.”

The Us Weekly source says Rihanna is committed to supporting Rocky amid the arrest, saying, “[She] is powerful and will do what she can to help him. She loves A$AP and wants him to be by her side when she gives birth.”

After his arrest, Rocky was released on $550,000 bail and his next court date is set for August 17.
