Protective order filed against Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson, accusing him of rape
An emergency protective order was filed Monday against Oklahoma’s Rodney Anderson, accusing the running back of rape. No charges have been filed, but a hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18.
Per the Tulsa World, the accuser wrote in a written statement that she met Anderson at a bar on Nov. 16, two days before the Sooners’ game at Kansas. The two went to a second bar, but she says she intended to return home from there until Anderson’s friends “insisted” otherwise.
The woman claims she went to a second bar with Anderson and planned on taking an Uber home, but, “Rodney’s friends insisted that he take me home.”
In the statement, the woman wrote, “All I remembered from the night was kissing him and vomiting for about 20 minutes. This past weekend, I was talking to a friend about the night and started recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers into my vagina and feeling sick, him biting me and me not feeling like I could say anything, and trying to get away from him to put clothes on.”
The statement alleges Anderson then followed the woman and asked her what she thought she was doing. The woman later claims her nipples hurt for the next three days and writes she felt sick the entire next day.
According to the Tulsa World, the accuser, who wrote in her statement that she is “scared” for her safety because Anderson knows where she lives, is a University of Oklahoma employee.
Anderson’s attorney, Derek Chance, released a statement saying the rape accusation is untrue.
“Mr. Anderson first learned of (the) request for a civil protective order late yesterday evening,” Chance’s statement reads. “Mr. Anderson is shocked and disturbed by (the woman’s) claims. The allegations are patently false. Mr. Anderson did not, nor would he ever, force himself on any woman.”
The school said Monday it is aware of the ongoing Norman police investigation.
Anderson, a redshirt sophomore, is Oklahoma’s leading rusher with 960 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has 16 catches for 283 yards and five scores.
Anderson had 93 rushing yards Saturday in OU’s Big 12 title game win over TCU. That win locked up a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals for the Sooners. Oklahoma, ranked No. 2, will face No. 3 Georgia in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
