Property Brother's Drew Scott Reveals He and Wife Linda Phan's Plans to Start a Family 'Very Soon'
Drew Scott and Linda Phan are ready to expand their family — and soon!
The Property Brothers star, 41, and his wife of nearly two years, 34, opened to PEOPLE about their desire to have children, even if it means slowing down a little.
“I think it’s spending less time working and more time with ourselves. If we’re always on the road filming, it’s really tough to grow a family,” Drew says in this week’s issue.
He and and his twin and HGTV co-star, Jonathan, have been going non-stop building their home improvement empire that now includes 5 TV shows, product lines, books and a new magazine launching this week, Reveal. But, the real estate pro admits, “I don’t want to keep delaying.”
And Drew is confident Linda, who is the creative director of Scott Brothers Global, is up for the job. “I know Linda is going to be an amazing mom, and I hope I’ll be a great dad.”

Some other important people in their lives are just as excited about the prospect of Property Babies. “We do get it a lot, especially from my parents,” Drew says. “We are looking forward to having kids. In the meantime we’re getting a lot of practice babysitting our nieces and nephews.”
It’s a sentiment they’ve shared several times since saying “I do.” In January 2019, Drew commented an Instagram photo posted his fellow HGTV star Joanna Gaines and her new baby Crew, joking, “We’ll be having kids soon so I’ll hit you up for hand me downs.”
Shortly after their May 2018 wedding in Italy, he told PEOPLE, “We’re excited to have kids. I think Linda and I will be great parents, and we’re excited to start that chapter of our lives.”
Jonathan also seems more than a little excited for his prospective uncle duties, asking his twin in their cover story interview, “Are you saying that 2020 is the year of the babies?”

Drew hedges just a bit. “Well, I’m not saying we have one ready to go, but hopefully soon! I think very soon you’ll see us announcing to the world.”
He also can’t help but wonder who their future kids will take after. “I wonder if they’ll have my height or Linda’s looks.”
Interjects Jonathan, “Hopefully definitely Linda’s looks! And that’s coming from a guy who looks like you.”
