Live events promoter AEG Presents U.K. has rebranded and expanded its comedy division.

Following the appointment of comedy specialist Georgie Donnelly as head of comedy, Donnelly is expanding the division to encompass entertainment, which is reflected in the name change from comedy division to comedy and entertainment.

The division, which will continue to promote top comedy talent, is also expanding its head count, recently hiring junior promoter Ophelia Francis. More hires are set to be confirmed in due course.

The change reflects AEG Presents U.K.’s move into live podcasts and other forms of live entertainment: the promoter recently announced a new tour for “The Rest is Politics” podcast, hosted by former government spin doctor Alastair Campbell and cabinet minister Rory Stewart, which is one of the U.K.’s most popular podcasts.

Among the live entertainment events AEG has overseen recently include Millie Bobbie Brown’s book launch, a live Q&A with Ryan Reynolds at London’s o2 arena and the live version of veteran BBC interview show “Desert Island Discs.”

“Over the last year we have been building the range of shows that the department promotes so it made sense to have a new name which reflects that,” said Donnelly. “Whilst the comedy scene in the U.K. continues to be so vibrant, there are all kinds of shows that we’ve found audiences are interested in coming to. We have had a big focus on podcasts for example having grown ‘The Rest is Politics Live’ show from the London Palladium to the upcoming o2 performance. Myself and the team are excited and energised for the year to come. “
