‘Project Runway’ winner Bishme Cromartie flirts with Christian Siriano one last time on the final after show [WATCH]

“I’m proud. I’m also sleepy. I don’t think it’s hit yet,” says Bishme Cromartie when he’s interviewed by fashion mentor Christian Siriano in the final “Project Runway” after show of season 20. Cromartie originally competed in season 17 of the design competition series but was eliminated in fourth place before he got the chance to show a collection. This time, not only did he show his full collection to the judges and spectators at NY Fashion Week, he won the grand prize too. Watch Siriano’s interview with Cromartie above.

Cromartie had an emotionally turbulent experience throughout this season on “Runway.” He seemed to be on the verge of withdrawing from the competition altogether in the season’s very first challenge, “Project Redemption,” because of how difficult it was to work while grieving the very recent death of his sister. He persevered, though, and his final collection even reflected his emotional journey, resulting in him winning the grand prize.

His favorite looks he designed during the season were both looks he made without any direction from the judges: his show-stopping “Freedom” look where he got the opportunity to design whatever he wanted, and the voluminous anxiety dress that closed out his collection in the finale. “I love a moment that kind of elevates things, but also has this edge to it because I knew how much it meant to me to get this gown done.”

But this season wasn’t just about painful emotions for Cromartie. His rapport with Siriano, with whom he’d shamelessly flirt, was also a highlight of the season. “You cannot flirt with me in the workroom anymore, honey!” Siriano insists, to which Cromartie slyly replies, “I’m pretty sure I left a mark, so …”
