Project Runway” judges made a mistake in deciding their final three for season 20. That’s according to the fans we polled after last week’s penultimate episode, “The Sky’s the Limit.” Scroll down to see our complete poll results.

“The Sky’s the Limit” was the avant garde challenge. It brought the final four — Brittany Allen, Laurence Basse, Bishme Cromartie and Rami Kashou — to the Summit One Vanderbilt building in Manhattan where they took inspiration from the architecture of the space as well as the spectacular views of the New York City skyline.

Cromartie won the challenge for a look that used vinyl to mimic the reflective surfaces of a balloon room in the building. That earned him the first spot in the finale. Basse also got high marks from the judges for a complex architectural design that translated the geometry of buildings into a garment. That left Allen and Kashou at the bottom vying for the last spot in the top three.

Kashou was ultimately eliminated for a design that evoked the glass and metal shapes of a building but had serious construction problems. So Allen was given a pass for an oversized puffer coat that was criticized for not being avant garde enough and not conveying a strong architectural inspiration. I personally thought Allen got way too much flack for that design, but the majority of our respondents (59.8%) thought she was the one who should have been eliminated from the competition.

A little over a third of fans (34.03%) believed the judges got it right by eliminating Kashou for his look. A little over 6% — combined — voted that Basse or Cromartie actually should have been eliminated, so the vast majority of readers thought the judges were right about the bottom two at least. Do you agree with the majority of fans that Kashou should have made it to tonight’s finale?
